Simple listing copy, photo and pricing tactics for Australian sellers who want buyers to understand the item fast.
A good marketplace listing does not need to sound clever. It needs to remove uncertainty. Buyers want to know what it is, what condition it is in, where it is and what happens next.
Use the brand, model, size or key feature when it matters. A title like 'Makita 18V drill kit with two batteries' tells a buyer far more than 'Great drill for sale'.
Avoid stuffing the title with hype. The goal is searchability and clarity.
In the description, cover age if known, working condition, faults, included accessories, pickup area and anything a buyer would reasonably ask before making contact.
Mention faults directly. A disclosed problem can still sell; a surprise problem destroys trust.
Start with a clear full-item photo, then show labels, controls, accessories, wear and any defects. Natural light and an uncluttered background help buyers judge the item quickly.
Do not hide damage. Photograph it and describe it.
